Tuesday Mar 06, 2018
Tuesday Mar 06, 2018
IN THIS REPEAT: The debut episode of the series Explorling Lewis Misquotes and Misconceptions.
If you have been on social media over the last few years then you have probably seen a quotation attributed to Lewis from someone that you wondered if he actually wrote. That happen to me time and time again; so much that I began to collect them as I researched whether or not Lewis wrote the quote in question. That led to a blog series examining each quotation (see link below). More recently I began collecting information related to the life of Lewis and his writings that are misunderstood and started a blog series on this (link also below). This led me to considering what you now see, the first of a six-part episode chatting about these topics. This initial show provides an overview of all the subjects address in the other programs. Guest host for today is Dr. Crystal Hurd.

Saturday Mar 03, 2018
Saturday Mar 03, 2018
IN THIS REPEAT: A variety of guest tell about The Great Divorce and why you should read or re-read it.
This podcast, part of an occasional feature to encourage you to read material from Lewis, focuses on one of the shortest works by him (excluding essays, of course). The Great Divorce was first released in weekly installments in The Guardian before published in 1946. If you have never read this fictional work then you will be pleasantly surprised about how much truth can be learned from the experiences of the characters! The guests sharing their thoughts are (in order of appearance): Dennis Beets, Gina DalFonzo, James Motter, and Brenton Dickieson.

(Re-post) WRL02 - Dymer
Tuesday Feb 27, 2018
Tuesday Feb 27, 2018
IN THIS REPEAT; From my series about why you should read Lewis; this one about his poem Dymer.
This podcast focuses on one of the lesser known works by C.S. Lewis; a long narrative poem entitled Dymer. This show is part of an occasional series indirectly begun in 2016 and officially kicked-off this year, 2017. The series is called "Why Read Lewis," and the aim is to encourage you to read or re-read works written by Lewis. Today's program features just three individuals reflecting and/or summarizing Dymer. They are Dr. Jerry Root, Dr. Crystal Hurd and Dr. Don King.
Dymer was first published in 1926, prior to Lewis becoming a Christian and was later reprinted in 1950.

(Re-Post) Deeper Magic (Dr. Donald T. Williams)
Tuesday Feb 20, 2018
Tuesday Feb 20, 2018
IN THIS REPEAT: My Interview with Donald T. Williams that explores the theology of C.S. Lewis.
While C.S. Lewis is known for being outspoken about his Christian faith, it's difficult to find specifics about what he believed in some aspects of Theology. This is not unusual because he wasn't a Theologian, even though he did manage to help many understand various theological issues. Fortunately, a new book by Dr. Donald T. Williams, entitled Deeper Magic: The Theology Behind the Writings of C.S. Lewis tackles the topic. This podcast interview provides an overview of his book that not only summarizes Lewis' views but also gives an analysis of them. Dr. Williams has previously been on All About Jack with a couple of podcasts featuring two different talks that related to the subject.

She has previously been on All About Jack for a couple of “Essay Chat” podcasts and co-hosted a series dealing with The Narnia Code, and talking about her spiritual autobiography Not God’s Type.
