Wednesday Aug 30, 2017
Wednesday Aug 30, 2017
IN THIS REPEAT: My last new podcast, the third of a six part series dealing with misquotes and misconceptions.
This is the third podcast episode in the series on "Misquotes and Misconceptions." Guest host for this show is Rev. David Beckmann. Previously he was interviewed about a video series he produced entitled C.S. Lewis on Prayer (link below). This time he asks William O'Flaherty questions about quotations credited to Lewis that he did not write. You will find the key words of those sayings listed below (that also link to an article online) about the quote in question. Also, in the show itself, actual quotes from Lewis are shared that are the closest thing he said on the given topic.

Monday Aug 28, 2017
IN THIS REPEAT: I decided to re-share 2014's recap of the shows I posted that year. This is the first of those two podcasts:
I had thirty-four new shows posted in 2014 (thirty six if you count this and next week's show!). The following is the first of a two part recap/reflection on the programs that were released in the last year. This segment spotlights shows done through July of this year before I changed the location of the hosting of All About Jack. At this time not all shows that was released at the old location has been re-released at the new site. Thus, a few excepts I share in this recap isn't available at this time, but will be in the next few weeks and links will be added later. Feel free to leave a comment telling me about your favorite show or make a suggestion of a potential guest.

(Re-Post) Not a Tame Lion (Terry Glaspey) 2016r
Friday Aug 25, 2017
Friday Aug 25, 2017
IN THIS REPEAT: An early interview with Terry Glaspey (recorded in 2011) about Not a Tame Lion.
Not a Tame Lion is the name of a book that was published by Terry Glaspey back in 1996. Since then has been re-released twice. The cover you see here is the most recent edition. William O'Flaherty caught up with Terry back in 2011 during a conference about Lewis. While not too much of the conversation focuses on the book itself, Terry offers useful information related to Lewis in this short interview.

Monday Aug 21, 2017
Monday Aug 21, 2017
C.S. Lewis societies have existed for a number of years. They range in size from a few dozen or less members to hundreds of members. Some have been around for a short time and others have decades of longevity behind them. Based out of Oakland in the U.S., the C.S. Lewis Society of California has been around for many years. It is an independent, non-profit, Christian, educational and cultural organization interested in events, publications, and other developments that advance deeper understanding of the enduring philosophical, cultural, historical, literary, spiritual, social, and economic issues of mankind. William O'Flaherty recently spoke with David Theroux, the president of the group.

Thursday Aug 17, 2017
Thursday Aug 17, 2017
IN THIS REPEAT: From last year...parts of the keynotes from Taylor 2016 Colloquium.
Here's another podcast featuring content from the recent 2016 Taylor Colloquium. This time it's highlights from each of the three keynote addresses. That is, about fifteen minutes of the talks are provided in this show. You'll hear Diana Glyer first as she talks about the process of writing and how Lewis and Tolkien often differed. Next is Sornia Higgins' presentation on the life of Charles Williams and finally, the last third of this podcast comes from Colin Duriez's speech on the critical friendship of Lewis and Owen Barfield. Please note that the last talk by Colin is more difficult to understand, as the place it was recorded in was different than the others and it turned out worse than expected. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(Re-Post) Exploring C.S. Lewis Misquotes and Misconceptions - Episode 1
Tuesday Aug 15, 2017
Tuesday Aug 15, 2017
IN THIS REPEAT: The last new show; the debut episode of the series Explorling Lewis Misquotes and Misconceptions.

If you have been on social media over the last few years then you have probably seen a quotation attributed to Lewis from someone that you wondered if he actually wrote. That happen to me time and time again; so much that I began to collect them as I researched whether or not Lewis wrote the quote in question. That led to a blog series examining each quotation (see link below). More recently I began collecting information related to the life of Lewis and his writings that are misunderstood and started a blog series on this (link also below). This led me to considering what you now see, the first of a six-part episode chatting about these topics. This initial show provides an overview of all the subjects address in the other programs. Guest host for today is Dr. Crystal Hurd.
