Lewis by history professor, Dr. Alan Snyder. Alan also explores the contrast between a young C.S. Lewis who had negative views about the U.S. and a more mature Lewis who married an American, along with telling about a variety of individuals who have been profoundly impacted by his life and writings.

Some have been around for a short time and others have decades of longevity behind them. Based out of Oakland in the U.S., the C.S. Lewis Society of California has been around for many years. It is an independent, non-profit, Christian, educational and cultural organization interested in events, publications, and other developments that advance deeper understanding of the enduring philosophical, cultural, historical, literary, spiritual, social, and economic issues of mankind. William O'Flaherty recently spoke with  David Theroux, the president of the group.

Battle_of_the_Mind_William_Taylor_2016_.I just gave the following short talk on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Taylor University Colloquium. My brief presentation was part of a variety of academic papers that was presented  there. In it I explore the 13th through the 17th letters from The Screwtape Letters to reveal where an often overlooked "preferred method" of the devils is suggested. Previously I spoke on the initial twelve letters (see link below) when I gave a keynote address at the Inklings Fellowship Weekend Retreat at Montreat College. The material from both is adapted and an expansion of material from my first book, C.S. Lewis Goes to Hell: A Companion and Study Guide to The Screwtape Letters. While I do give a summary of the unique aspects of my book, the main focus of the talk is about the devils' "preferred method" to keep us from living up to God's potential. I just gave the following talk on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Inklings Fellowship Weekend Retreat that was held in Montreat, NC at Montreat College. It was also the public debut of my first book C.S. Lewis Goes to Hell: A Companion and Study Guide to The Screwtape Letters. While I do give a summary of the unique aspects of my book, the main focus of the talk is about the devils' secret weapon that is mentioned in nearly all of the letters. My book just list them, but this presentation provides more details and gives a practical application to one's life. The following is the complete interview (nearly 60 minutes) with Walter Hooper. It was recording in his home on July 20, 2016. As you likely know, Walter has been the central figure since the death of C.S. Lewis in making sure Lewis' writing that were published in his life were reprinted and also Hooper has edited the majority of material from Lewis that was previously unpublished. His C.S. Lewis - A Companion and Guide gives the best single volume summary of the works of Lewis and key facts about his life.
